The speakers will be joined by interlocutor Tania Ursomarzo (Architect and Assistant Professor at American University of Sharjah) for a discussion on how recycled materials have the potential of giving designers and architects new opportunities for making an ethical and sustainable change in the field of architecture.

CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP: Plastic Bag Weaving

In parallel with the Re-materialize Series 2 Screening and Panel Discussion, we are offering a workshop for children aged 7 and up to learn how to up-cycle plastic waste into artwork.

Led by designer Natalya Konforti of Glitches and Stitches, children will be encouraged to work with single-use plastic bags and transform the material into colourful woven art pieces, thereby giving young participants an initiation into the world of up-cycling whilst promoting dexterity through the craft and action of weaving.

Participants are recommended to bring in their own plastic bags.
